Business Health/Occupational Health - Medical DirectorPosted 07/10/2026Aspirus Health is seeking a physician to join our Occupational Health team as Specialty Medical DirectorOccupational HealthThis position reports directly to the System Senior Physician Executive - Specialty Care and has relationships with the System Director - Business Services and Service Line Administrators. This physician leader will leverage the core values of Aspirus Health to achieve success.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:This position is a combination of clinical and medical director dutiesThe time commitment to the medical director role is .2 FTE (1 day/week)Provide leadership to the Occupational Health team in alignment with Aspirus Health goalsCollaborate with the System Director in overseeing day-to-day operations related to physician and APC practicesParticipate in general development and execution of system strategic operating plan, pillar, and other growth initiativesHelp build and promote the Aspirus culture within AMG and our communitiesPromote and sustain the delivery of excellent patient experienceMedical directorship over onsite clinicsClinical role is .4 FTE (2 days/week)Scheduled patients, and emergent work compensation patientsConduct pre-employment physicals and DOT physical examinationsPerform workers compensation evaluationsDiagnose and treat minor workplace injuriesOversight of APCsQualificationsStrong communication and marketing skillsPrefer Occupational Health Board CertificationDOT certification preferred, must obtain within 90 daysMust be licensed in WI, and obtain licensure in Michigan and MinnesotaEXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years experience in the practice of their Specialty (post-residency/ fellowship), direct patient care, and demonstrated skills and experience in clinical and administrative leadership through activities including, but not limited to, advanced healthcare administration course work, service as a medical staff officer, or program medical directorExperience and expertise in DOT, OSHA, and Workers Compensation regulations and employer requirementsExperience as a successful influencer who can interact effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders such as other physicians, healthcare administration, employer clients and staffCOMMUNITY: Discover the Greater Wausau AreaA vibrant, four-season community where career meets quality of lifeLocated in the heart of north-central Wisconsin, the Greater Wausau offers an outstanding quality of life.
